Christopher Ware

Today, there are so many people within our society carrying around the remnants of their past, individuals hurting from their wounded inner child...perhaps you are one of these people.  This pain never really goes away if it is not fully addressed—it only becomes hidden deeper in our mind; however it does have a tremendous affect upon us in our daily lives.  For some, it’s not achieving a sense of personal satisfaction—you are unhappy with your job, your life partner, your relationships, yet, you don’t understand why or what is holding you back from experiencing the best out of life.

My therapeutic style is geared toward helping these individuals who, not only wish to feel better about themselves, but have a strong desire to thrive, to reach a level of personal and professional accomplishment by throwing off the debilitating effects centered around their past.  This process of discovery takes personal courage and involves looking at, and understanding your past—in essence you agree, as an adult, to peer back into your world from a time when you may have had very little control over your surroundings.

Your decision to speak with someone and begin therapy is your first step in saying, “I want a full and satisfying life and I deserve to be happy”.  My focus in cognitive behavioral therapy can help eliminate a myriad of negative thoughts and attitudes you may currently hold and change the behaviors associated with them.  By altering unhealthy thoughts while learning new behaviors, you transform your life and come to feel better about yourself.

I have worked with individuals and families from all walks of life, clients who held a wide-range of life experiences.  My work with gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender (GLBT) individuals is particularly rewarding, as is my group work with children and families.  As a clinical social worker, I use short, focused, brief therapies concentrating on issues that will help clients move forward as quickly as possible.
